About Attorney John Finnigan
John has a total of approximately twenty-eight years of legal experience representing both employers and individuals in employment and labor law matters.
John is a solo practitioner and he performs all the work on the legal matters that he handles with the assistance of a full time Legal Assistant and an Office Manager.
John is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law from 2003 to the present.
John is AV Preeminent Lawyer Rating LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell since 2004 to the present.
Prior to starting his own law firm in 2007 John worked in large law firms where he gained extensive experience in employment and labor law.
John was the Chair of the Employment Law Section of the GrayRobinson law firm which is a Florida based general practice law firm. Before joining the GrayRobinson law firm, John was a Partner with the Garwood, McKenna, Wolf & Finnigan law firm, which in August 2000 merged with FordHarrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm.
John began his legal career in 1992 as an Associate in an Orlando based employment and labor law firm which was then known as Garwood & McKenna, P.A. and that merged with FordHarrison LLP in 2000.
Prior to attending law school John worked in the human resources profession as a Regional Employee Relations Manager at Dow Jones & Company, Inc. which at the time owned and published The Wall Street Journal. Prior to that position John was employed as a Personnel Manager for Florida Citrus Groves Corporation which was a subsidiary of Libby, McNeill and Libby, Inc. and the Nestlé Company.
John’s pre-law experience in the human resources profession provides him with valuable insights and experience when advising and representing employers or individuals in employment matters. In light of John’s pre-law experience in human resources, John also frequently advises employers and individuals on the day-to-day policy and procedural issues involving human resource situations.
